So today, as some of you know, I went and had lunch at Ike’s Lair in Oakland (basically Ike’s Place Jr.)
Not much to say about the actual place, it was cool, the cashier was chill- onto the sandwich.
I ordered the ‘Damon Bruce’, which comes with thinly sliced rib eye, A1 sauce, and onion rings. I had it on a Dutch Crunch roll, with lettuce, pickles, red onions, Dirty Sauce, mustard, and I added bacon.
I’m not going to say it was the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life, but it’s definitely in the top 5.
The cool thing about this place is that it’s just a 5 minute walk from the 19th St. BART station, basically across the street from the Paramont Theater.
It was a little pricey, with a drink and chips ended up being $17 just for me - so basically it’s not an everyday type place to eat.
But for the experience of trying one, and just having a great sandwich - Ike’s Place/Lair is pretty cool. They have an extensive selection of Meat, Vegetarian, and Vegan sandwiches - so there’s something for everyone.
I’d give the sandwich a 9.5/10, and the price on my trip a 6/10 (prices vary on what you order).
Can’t wait to try the other sandwiches that Ike’s has to offer.
And they give you Caramel Apple Pops too.
